Nonprofit society to cultivate a local, sustainable food system in British Columbia

"FarmFolk/CityFolk Society is a non-profit society that works with farm & city to cultivate a local, sustainable food system. We develop and operate projects that provide access to & protection of foodlands; that support local growers and producers; and that educate, communicate and celebrate with local food communities." British Columbia organization FarmFolk/CityFolk emphasizes the power of collaboration through its diverse programs in education, outreach, seedsaving, and even photography. FF/CF prides itself on relationships with government bodies in addition to community groups and farming families. Many of the group’s programs aim at documentation, assembly, collections, and information databases; “Seed Security,” “Knowledge Pantry,” and “Eat Your History” are notable examples. The exchange program between city and farm is organized around events: tours, lectures, and tri-annual festivals.
